I friend and I went to see Hot Tuna at the Fillmore West in early 1971.

Had no idea who the 2nd billed band was...
they were called the Allman Brothers.

Whoah. They tore the top of my skull clean off.

Ran out the next day and bought their 1st lp.
Not quite as impressive as the show, but Midnight Rider was good.
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But Im not gonna let them catch me, no,
Not gonna let em catch the midnight rider.

Phil and Friends did a nice Midnight Rider at the Echo Project South of Atlanta 10-14-07.

They knew where they were and Berry would have appreciated the gesture, I'm sure.
